Account security basics for gaming platforms

Gaming accounts hold a payment method and a phone number, which makes them a normal target. The basics below cover most real-world compromises.

The essentials

  • A unique password per site, stored in a password manager
  • Two-factor authentication wherever the platform supports it
  • No OTP shared with anyone, for any reason
  • No gaming APK installed from a link in a chat group

If you think an account is compromised

Change the password from a device you trust, revoke active sessions, remove any saved payment method, and check your bank and UPI apps for authorisations you did not create. Then contact the platform's official support channel only.
